Friends University Description:
Founded in 1898 by the Quakers, Friends University is a private Christian university with a 54-acre main campus in Wichita, and other campuses in Lenexa and Topeka, Kansas. The university also has several outreach locations. At the heart of the Wichita campus is the Davis Administration Building, a stunning structure that was the largest educational facility west of the Mississippi when it was constructed in the 1880s. The university has a range of programs for both traditional undergraduates and adults who need to balance school with their other commitments. Several of the university's most heavily enrolled majors such as human resource management and organizational management are offered through the adult education program. Residential students will find a wide range of opportunities for extracurricular involvement from athletics to the arts. On the intercollegiate front, the Friends University Falcons compete in the NAIA Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference for most sports. The university fields 15 teams and also has dance and cheer programs. Popular sports at Friends include football, tennis, track and field, cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball.
